Changing Lives Through Education in Sri Lanka
The SLWA Education Scheme has been registered as a charity in the United Kingdom since 1998. Its purpose is direct and measurable: to fund the education of disadvantaged women and girls in Sri Lanka and give them the means to build independent lives.
Every pound raised through SLWA events and membership goes toward school supplies, learning materials, and educational resources for students in rural Sri Lanka who would otherwise go without.

What the Education Scheme Funds
The Scheme focuses on practical, high-impact support. Every project is chosen for its direct benefit to students who lack access to basic educational resources.
Musical Instruments
The Scheme provided instruments to Boyawalana MV school in Keppitiwalana, giving students the tools to perform at school events and cultural celebrations for the first time.
School Books and Stationery
Donation vouchers given to students at Henegama Central College allow them to purchase the school books and stationery they need for the academic year.
Uniforms and Shoes
Vouchers for school shoes and uniform items ensure students arrive at school properly equipped, removing a barrier to attendance and reducing stigma for lower-income families.
School Infrastructure
Where needs are identified, the Scheme contributes to classroom resources and equipment that improve the physical learning environment for students and teachers alike.
Women's Economic Empowerment

Vulnerable Children
The Scheme has contributed to organisations such as the CFS Prithipura Home, which supports destitute children with physical and mental disabilities — a registered charity approved as an NGO in Sri Lanka.
